She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (B.A. Psychology), and the Santa Clara University School of Law (Juris Doctor). She is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of California, the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Californian and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In an aggressively contested appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals,including an amicus brief filed by the United States of America in opposition, argued and prevailed on issues establishing for the first time that violation of the automatic stay is a federal tort, and providing that emotional distress damages are therefore available, without expert testimony or nexus to financial loss. See Stinson v. Bi-Rite Supply, Inc. (In re Stinson), 295 B.R. 109,(B.A.P. 9th Cir. 2003) and adopted In re Dawson, 390 F.3d 1139 (9th Cir. 2004)

Ms. Voisenat is Mexican American and assists her Spanish speaking clients with a translator.
