I primarily handle criminal matters and appellate work. I have tried both felony and misdemeanor cases. I am very experienced in all aspects of New York criminal defense. I am also very well versed in DWI defense. I have handled over 100 DWI cases. I am certified by Blackwater Worldwide in Driving Under the Influence Detection. This course focused on several areas including but not limited to, the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which include the Walk-and-Turn, One-Leg-Stand and the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus. I am also certified in Narcotic Field Testing by NIK Public Safety. I completed the National Association Criminal Defense Lawyers 2009 DUI Defense Seminar (October 2009). This three day class was sponsored by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense. It focused on many areas of DWI defense including breath, urine and blood testing, cross-examination techniques and toxicology issues. These certifications and classes have proved invaluable in my cross-examination of the arresting officer in DWI cases. My experience and knowledge with DWI defense is known amongst other criminal defense attorneys and some call me for assistance on DWI cases or to even take over as trial counsel on their DWI cases.
