Additional Information
First and foremost I am a litigator and a successful negotiator. Currently, I am a sole practioner, located in the South Bay, Southern CA. I hold an active license in CA #173974, am admitted to pratice in Washington, D.C. before the PTO and, because my primary legal work is in CA, I am on "inactive" status In Illinois (IL #6199266).(I am in good standing in IL and can reactivate my IL license by paying an additional fee.)
I attended Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, GA (1985-1988), and began practicing business/civil litigation in Chicago: 1st in a medium (100 attys), then a large-sized firm (300 attys). My business litigation experience ranges from collection, to bankruptcy, intellectual property, insurance/reinsurance defense & coverage to representing large corporate clients on a variety of matters.
As a sole practioner in CA, I have handled a broad variety of business/contract diputes, but I also represent several music and film artists (rap, hip hop, urban) on any matters--I'm a good negotiator and can handle matters both in & out of the courtroom.
Recently, I have also successfully defended clients on misdemeanors (DUI, DMV matters, purported parole violations & warrants). I don't guarantee results, but have had certain cases dismissed and/or renegotiated plea bargains--results that a public defender would not fight for.
Bottom line--I enjoy "in court" work, but I believe the best litigators work for you to stay out of court.
