Do you need a bank levy from the state in which an account holder now resides to garnish money from a bank account?

To enforce a judgment against an individual no longer living in the state in which the judgment was entered, you will have to register the judgment in the new state, and work through their enforcement process, unless their assets are still here in California. If their bank accounts are still in a California bank, you may be able to levy without having to register the judgment in their new state.
