Legal Question

I got a call from a detective. He accused me of identity theft. He called me on my cellphone he said someone has stole a person identity and tried to get a loan. They used my cell phone number and my job as reference.. I asked him did he want me to come in, he said not if I wasn't going to admit it. He would call me when he got more evidence so shall I hire a lawyer just in case?
