This sounds like a pretty good case for your friend against the bar and the bouncers. Of course in this situation there is always another story (maybe true, maybe lies, but always another story). So there's no such thing as a guarantee win, but it sounds like a very strong case for both friends who got hit.

If one of the bouncers is convicted of a felony and receives at least a one year sentence in state prison, he may have to pay the plaintiff's attorney fees. But the bouncers probably have little in the way of assets, it is the bar who is the most important defendant and for insurance coverage to exist you must show negligence on the bar owner's part as insurance does not cover willful acts. What type of bar is it that has to employ 5 bouncers?

There seem to be a case here. However, the question is what are the damages suffered by your friend besides being hit on the face and body and being humiliated. If there aren't appreciable injuries associated with this incident, this case will not be attractive for most lawyers who know what they're doing.

Also, someone should promptly check the bank's security surveillance system for possible footage evidencing this incident.
