you may resort to a complaint u/s 125 crpc for claiming maintenance for yourself and the girl child. as he has deserted you, it is upto you to decide whether you want him or want to give him divorce. however, this decision may be taken mutually and for that you may talk to him and sort it out. unless there are specific orders for his extradition from a competent court of law, it may be difficult to call him back.
