I live in California and my kids live in Oklahoma with there mother. I want to file for custody but don't know were I have to file here in California or in Oklahoma. And is there a way to file the papers myself

If the children have been living in Oklahoma for more than 6 months, then there is a high probability that where they currently live would be the proper forum for filing your reque...

If there is an existing custody order that y want to change, you would file it in the court in which the original order was entered. If there is no existing order, I agree with Ms....
