Statute of Limitations tells how long the government has to bring charges. For misdemeanor possession, should be one year. RCW 9A.04. If a person were to be charged with misdemeanor possession, maximum penalty is 90 days jail and 1,000 dollar fine. Mandatory minimum penalty is 24 hours jail (or 40 hours community service), and 300-500 dollar fine, depending on the court. |
