Legal Question

I have been renting my home for the past 5 years and a couple a months ago they put the house on the market. Now last night they called and said we have 2 weeks to move out. The closing date is 2 weeks and I asked if they can postpone the closing date and they said that was impossible. I had the impression that I should have received a written notice for 30 days. Am I right or wrong?
