A different part of your body was injured so your comp. case should continue on as it was going. You need to find out if your current attorney handles auto accident cases. You do not have to use the same attorney but it is easier to have one than multiple attorneys.

Your case is not an administrative case. Your case deals with both worker's comp and personal injury. I suggest you inform your worker's comp attorney about the auto accident and then contact a personal injury attorney regarding the auto accident. Mr. McGinity's answer starts out suggesting that you have a single case, then discusses it as though it were two cases. I think it is two cases. The first is perhaps an administrative action with the Workers' Comp. Appeals Board, or maybe a general civil action in court against an employer or insurer. The auto accident will be a separate civil action (unless you settle out of court, of course). However, this is not to say there won't be overlapping facts and claims. Whether to use the same lawyer (or law firm) for the second case (assuming you need a lawyer for it at all) would depend upon several factors, including how satisfied you are with the first lawyer or firm, their expertise, ans whether you personally or your insurance company will be paying them.
