Legal Question in Administrative Law in India

How does fee per hearing/appearance work for experienced lawyers. What if the matter isn't decided due to some problems and the case is adjourned for next date. Does the person has to pay again for the next hearing. What if the Bar council has called the strike, or the lawyer or judge is very sick to appear or hear the petition or the case. What happens then. I am LLB student (2nd years) and i am writing an article for the college magazine on top lawyers of India.

And also does a person has to sign a legal document regarding the fee and other expenses like documentation fee, clerk fees etc.

Thanks for your co-operation. I don't care how many lawyers we have, i can't wait to join this legal fraternity

Dear Sir / Madam,

Usually most Advocates / Lawyers undertake assignments on the basis of a mandate from their clients. If it is a collective representation on behalf of say members of a co-operative society, legal fees quoted and charged to the Society are on per member basis. When it comes to attending / appearance at Court hearings, the out of pocket expenses of the concerned Advocate / Lawyer are reimbursed by the client, which range from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 2,500/- per appearance depending on whether the appearance is at a Small Cause or Consumer Forum Lokadalat, Metropolitan Magistrate Court, High Court or Supreme Court hearing. Pro-rata reduction in appearance fees is granted when the Advocate / Lawyer has physically remained present in person for the scheduled hearing, but the hearing has not actually taken place on account of the Judge not remaining present in the Court resulting in an adjournment in proceedings.
