Legal Question in Administrative Law in India

Hello,

My mother was a Govt. Teacher and she died of Cancer in 2007. At that time I passed out my 12th standard and did not apply for the job of my mother. I am from Punjab. Now I am 26 years old and financially we are not good. I want to have this job now. Is it possible to apply now? What should I do? Suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you.

1 Answer from Attorneys

1) Check up with Punjab Government Teachers Rules on compassionate appointment.

2) Normally even if the son is minor, an application has to be filed on record. After attaining the age of majority, the Government considers after strict scrutiny. The financial position of the family and other factors are also considered.

3) On completing 18 years, why didn't u apply for the job?

4) Take up through Teacher Employees Association in which ur mother was member, who would be able to guide u and talk to the local Govt for speedy disposal.
