Legal Question in Banking Law in India

I applied for credit card in 2000 and was approved. I used the same till 2002 and settled the account by making some payment as agreed by both sides. In previous years they had sent a legal notice for payment to total amount with interest. In reply i had sent them a copy of SETTLEMENT LETTER and the receipt pertaining to payments made. Now that they are again asking to make the balance payment with interest which is almost coming to Rs. 44,00,000/- for a merry amount of Rs. 30,000/-, as the settlement made is not valid and that too after a long gap of almost 12 years. Kindly help me in this issue and give me a guidance to tackle this issue. Thanking you, with regards.

Do not reply to them any more. If they file a suit and u receive summons from court, defend it by engaging a lawyer.
