Legal Question in Business Law in India

Sir/Ma'am

A person (X) has been found to have forged the signature of the chief custom officer and approved his shipment illegally. Unfortunately there was a man (Y) who just knew and had nothing to do with X'S work. There was a full interrogation at Y'S home for 3-4 hours. They had search warrants, after which they took Y without any evidence with them for a full day interrogation. They found nothing against Y. Only that he had called X few days ago asking for some work. It's been 10 hours and Y's phone was taken and he had no way of contacting his family. Is it valid for the investigation team to take an innocent man without any evidence with them and not let him contact his family?

Dear Sir / Madam,

It remains for the Police to decide whether the person being interrogated is permitted to contact his family. Normally, the cops permit the person to inform his whereabouts to his family.
