Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

In the month of april i have transferred 2lac rupees to a friend who is in need without any writings .when i have asked him to return money he always postpones .i am having only the amount transferred statement of bank and the conversations with his mom and himself in which i have discussed about the money .so kindly help me by suggesting a solution for this..

Dear Sir / Madam,

There certainly ought to be some purpose or motive behind transfer of the money to your friend. If there wasn't any purpose or motive, you have involuntarily helped your friend who might be under the impression that you have done charity. Before taking the Police route as the last resort, you can only follow up and persuade your friend verbally and in writing, to return back your money.
