Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

In my last question I wrote regarding my husband Hdfc credit card. Yes we received a SMS on my mobile from Hdfc that they have received sum of RS 4000/-. But I do not understand why they did legal proceedings as earlier in feb2016 we told the last person we spoke to settle this card . the limit on the card was 40,000/- and now the total amount due is 60,000/-.

Still I am confused regarding warrant against my husband. Pls tell what should we do now. As about the warrant I still feel like it was a prank to make us feel haunted, so that we should pay asap as per their demand. Pls tell should I ask that advocate to give us legal notice and warrant copy. Pls advice

Dear Madam / Sir,

You should establish the facts from the Bank and not the Advocate. As already advised, you should negotiate a one time settlement with the Bank, repay the agreed settlement amount and cancel the card taking the Bank's no dues and card closure letter.

1) Find out details from the Bank, verify the statement of account and go for one time settlement.

2) Consult a local advocate to find out facts on warrant lest police will not respond to u.
