Legal Question in Family Law in India

My Father is a irresponsible and abusive man. Since my childhood i have always seen him fighting, shouting and even abusing others everyday as a result i and my brother had always afraid of him. He also uses abusive language for my mother. No one in our family can go against him or his will. Now i am an adult around 30 years of age and my father do not want me to get married. However he portray himself differently in front of outsiders but my family members know his real intention. His actual concern is the amount of money that needed to be spend in a marriage ceremony. However he is a rich man (because of property received by him on separation from his brothers) but still he never want to spend even for basic needs of our family. He consider himself as head of the family.
My mother has always taught us not to speak about our father outside as this will bring disrespect to our family. We had always hide our real situation and our father behaviour from others. But now his continuous dominance is spoiling my (girl) and my brother's life. I do not want to fight with my Father as because i think " It is his decision whether to be responsible or not". What can i do? Plz Help
