Legal Question in Family Law in India

hi. my question is as per Indian law can a daughter -in-law be forced against her will to stay with the parents-in-law? parents-in-law have not physically hurt her but they keep criticising her for whatever she does, insults her and her parents, creates misunderstandings between the son and the daughter-in-law, makes her cook, clean and scrape continuously. the poor girl has no privacy in her life. husband is in office for almost the entire day and does not care to defend his wife even once. infact is often misled by his parents. he does not want to get separated as he is the only son, though he has three sisters who visit their parents almost every alternate day and the daughter in law is toiling hard to feed them, their children and husbands almost every other day. the parents of the daughter-in-law are insulted if they come over to visit. she is their only daughter. is it possible for her to demand for staying separately from her in-laws? she doesn't mind if her husband supports them in every other way (financially). she has no problem if they visit occasionally. but it is hell for her to stay with them 24/7. if the husband is not ready for this, can he divorce his wife on this ground? she does not want to separate from the husband and does not want her husband to separate from his parents. she just wants to live separately in two homes.

even though sugar coated it is a bitter pill. the concern is about the only daughter who is working in her inlaws home. the idea is to separate the son from his parents. well if the boy is ready to leave his parents go right ahead but if he isnt then the marriage is heading for trouble.
