Legal Question in Family Law in Pakistan

Wife filed dissolution of marriage and got decree in her favor. She has a 18 months child(girl) who is in her custody since divorce . Furthermore, wife entered into second marriage and her second husband accepted the child as well. A month ago, wife applied for the guardianship of the child at place "A" and same is contested by her ex-husband. During the pendency of Guardian petition, ex-husband filed an application u/s 12 of Guardian and ward Act, for the interim custody of minor at place "B"

My question is what is the importance of the application filed by the ex-husband ? And what remedy wife has to contest the said application?
