Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

Dear Sir,

This is regarding my grandfather's property. My grandfather had three sons. My father and two uncles. After my grandfather's death, three sons divided the property (house and land) such that one of the son will get money and give up his share. This was documented and registered in the Register office with proper witnessess.

The son who has given up his share did not mentioned any survey number in the registered document. But it is clearly mentioned as he has taken money for his share and does not entitle for any non-moving assets in future. At that time his son was minor and only his father has signed the document. Now all the three sons also died.

Still the property is in the name of my grandfather only. When I asked village office to execute the document he told me that since no survey number is mentioned that document is not valid. Kindly advice whether it is really not valid or how to proceed further.

Thanks,

Prasath

Dear Prasath,

You should apply for certified duplicate of the property card and other documents from the Registrar's office.
