Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

Indian PWDV act gives rights to unmarried sisters that prevents a brother from evicting her from his house even if the house is in his name. This is what someone replied to me last time here. I had also said that this sister is professionally qualified and is yet not willing to work and earn and is deliberately wants to stay a burden on her brother. Does the brother not have any right to evict her in that case?

In the last reply case it is not clear whether the respondent noticed I was saying the sister was not working and becoming a burden on the brother even when she was qualified to work. If this can be cleared up please?

Dear Sir / Madam,

In keeping with the Prevention of Women's Domestic Violence (PWDV) Act, it remains the duty of the brother to support his sister till she is financially independent.

You should persuade your sister to take up suitable employment, instead of moving proceedings to evict her from your house.
