Legal Question in Civil Litigation in India

In one of my recent petitions to the District Collector, my petition was rejected on the grounds that 'I have not enclosed the possession document' - What I fail to understand is that what is a possession document for a vacant, pucca 'patta' land?

To the best of my understanding, all land related documents that are duly registered, vacant land tax payments are the documents that needs to be attached to prove one's ownership and I had duly complied with all of those requirements.

If there is any separate 'possession document' for a vacant land as was mentioned in my case, who is the authority to issue such a possession document?

Most importantly, what I fail to understand is that will there be a question of possession for a vacant land at all when one is the true title holder and enjoyment of the property for more than 50 years??!!!!

It is indeed very devastating to note the interpretations of law in many cases in India.

Has the Supreme Court tried to seriously address such issues at all???
