Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Nigeria
can the Nigerian copyright commission raid an office and compel the staff to disclose the passwords and encryption keys of our client's portable media e.g. flash drives, DVDs etc and make arrests if we do not possess and hence cannot disclose some of the encryption keys, we do not store or sell or offer for sale copyright material, but it seems the mere presence of flash drives and DVDs has brought them to our door.

They would need a search warrant or some sort of authorisation from the court to do that.

Dear Sir / Madam,
No, a proper Court order and a Police Cyber Cell Clearance Certificate is required prior to the raid, else the raid is deemed to be unauthorized and illegal.
