Legal Question in Employment Law in India

thanks for answering,but
i did not understand clearly
my brother in law was working since 1991 but grant by the assam govt as govt employee during 2005-06.exact date i have not remember his scale or salary started from that time
after grant and upto death on 2009 his working period 3 years.
i donot know which period will be taken, from joing period or after granting period to death.
and i also want to know, for a death case of a govt servant,how many days/months/year need as his working period for pension to provide to his wife
