Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Dear Sir / Madam

I joined a bank in 2011 as a probationary officer. I was under Service-Bond for 2 years of 1lakh rupees. But I didn't like the job, work culture(mental harassment), etc.. and hence I resigned after 3 months.

Now in 2014 they have sent me a notice from some lawyer that I am supposed to pay the amount 1 lakh + penalty.

Please suggest what can I do.

I cant afford lawyer.

Dear Sir / Madam,

Asking an employee to sign a Performance Bond being deemed to be termed as bonded labour is illegal and a criminal offense. You can simply write to the Bank that this being a malpractice, you do not have the means to pay the Bond amount. You should also detail therein instances of your harassment to justify your claim to resign.

Regards,
