Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Dear sir/mam,

I have signed a bond for 2 years for my ex company in which it was mentioned that I have to pay Rs 50000 as penalty if I leave before my bond period. I left the job after 14th month. In my offer letter it was written that I will be in a prohibition period of 6 months and after that period my salary will be reviewed but I got increment in 14th month.

I have not given any notice period. Now they have sent a mail asking Rs 50000 immediately. Will it be legally wrong if I don't pay.
