Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Hi, i am currently employed with a private firm. I got transfered on my personal request from Chennai to Bangalore Jan 2013. Now i have got a better opportunity in Bangalore and i have sent my resignation mail. Now they have replied back to me that i need to serve one year after the transfer and this is the transfer policy. But I did not get any communication (oral or written) from the HR about the transfer policy. I explained to them but they are not listening.

Kindly help me out in this situation as i have commited to join the other employer in 30 days. (30 days is my employers official notice period)

Dear Sir / Madam,

You are only required to serve the notice period as per your letter of appointment and the employer has no locus standi to ask you to serve even a day more than the specified notice period. Since you have served the notice period, you should ask the Company to settle your final dues and join the new employer. Just ignore your present Company and if they fail to pay your final settlement, you should write to the office of the Labour Commissioner to redress your grievances.

Regards,
