Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India

Dear Sir / Madam

I stay in a CO.OP.HSG. Society in marve road, malad(west), Mumbai-400095. In our recent AGM held in the society office there came a proposal of installing CCTV cameras in the society taking money from societies fund. Being a member of the society I objected on the matter suggesting the managing committee that since at many other places we have found that after some months of installation the CCTV doesnt works properly and creates unnecessary additional cost to the society so to avoid such kind of situations we should not go ahead for it. On this the chairman of the society told that it is compulsory and also a law to install CCTV cameras in the society . Kindly advice is there any such law mentioned anywhere, if yes please give its reference and section. Secondly, if some of the members wanted to go for CCTV installation in the society the cost for its installation and maintenance should be borne by the whole society or only by those who are interested should bear it.
