Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

We have a family property in the name of my great grandfather and it has not been transferred since. And since my grandfather is no more in this world, so how the transfer will took place as there are brothers of grandfather who came forward to claim the property and what if few brothers of my grandfather are also no more in this world. Do I need to get the affidavit signed from the grandmother only or even from the sons of grandfather's brothers?

Please advise. As I want to sell this property, what are the different legalities which needs to be properly adhered to.
