Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in India

Is probate done in foreign court that follows Common law, acceptable in Indian courts? My father had a NRI account with a bank in India, and about 5years ago an officer said it would be as long as it's attested by the Indian consulate in the country where probate was done. Now that officer is no longer there and the officer in charge says the Probate has to be done in India? (My late father made his will in the country he lived in and that is where the probate was done, I.e. Outside of India)
