Legal Question in Technology Law in Alabama

Import dvds

Sometimes some movies are released overseas before in the u.S. This being the case, you can buy these ''unreleased'' dvds before they are released in the u.S. If i buy one or more of these, is that illegal, and can i get into trouble because of use of a credit card is traceble. Please let me know asap.

Thanks, reed

Re: Import dvds

You can get in trouble. These are illegal copyright infringements. The same is true of illegal DVD copies made with use of DVD Copy Plus and other similar widely circulated copy programs. Litigation exists over DVD illegal copies, so it is an area where someone who is selling lots of copies can expect to get in serious trouble. One or two copies of a few movies will probably slide by, but mass copying will probably be challenged. If you are not greedy on your illegal copies, you will likely be below the radar screen.
