Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Alabama

I have been sued by 4 law firms for credit card debt. I have been out of work and ill and could not keep up the payments I commited to. A relative offered to loan me some money. Do you think that the law firms will let me pay a percentage of what they say I owe to totally clean up these debts and wipe them off their books? Thanks

Why not file bankruptcy and get rid of all of the debt?
