Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

I have an alias warrant from 10 years ago and want to take care of it but I don'

I have an alias warrant from alabama that I had gotten 10 years ago which I had no idea I had and I called them to try and clear this matter up. I wanted to take care of it here but they said I had to go to Alabama and take care of it. Is their any options that I have to take care of it here were I live which is in Wisconsin. I lived in Alabama only for about 6 months and I have no idea which way to turn. I tried to get my license in Wisconsin and thats how I found out about this matter. Please help me if you can.

Dear ?,

"Is their any options that I have to take care of it here were I live"

NO! The warrant is for your arrest. You can only take care of it by going to AL and appearing in court. The only exception would be if the charge is a misdemeanor and if AL allows you to appear by counsel on a misdemeanor, as some states do.

You need to contact a good criminal defense attorney in AL for advice about this.

Well, it depends on what the charge is. Tell me more about the circumstances of the case and what you were charged with.
