Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

change in custody and child support

I've had custody of my 2 girls since 2001. My oldest wants to live with dad now , which is ok with me. Is he legally require to still pay the same court ordered child support until we go back to court to have custody change , and figure out what the new, updated child support would be for both children ? Also , who should pay for the lawyer ?

Yes , he is legally required to pay the amount set out in the divorce decree until the decree is changed. Who pays for the attorney is up to you and the father to agree on, one important factor would be the relative incomes of the two of you. And, it may be best for each of you to have a separate attorney.
