Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

My mother is trying to gain guardianship of my 3 month old niece in Alabama. She ordered guardianship papers online. These papers refer to an incapacitated person. Are these the correct guardianship papers and/or will they work for these purposes? No one will be contesting this process.

No. 99% of the time, buying forms online is a complete waste of money. Your situation is a good example. The forms you are describing have nothing to do with getting custody of a child. I would encourage you to consult with an attorney about the proper procedure for your mother getting custody of your niece. If no one is contesting it then it will be much easier than if the parents were opposing the petition, but there are still several steps that need to be gone through to do it correctly.

If our office can be of assistance, please give me a call or send me an email. Good luck to you.
