Legal Question

Would we be responsible for back child support?

We were contacted by a girl saying that she was my husbands daughter. She is now 17, he is one of the possible fathers. If he does a test to find out if he is really the bioligical father now could we be responsible for any back child support or any other financial responsibility now if he is the father.
