Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

trucking companies are paying their drivers by rand mcnally household movers miles shortest dstance but then the company will route their drivers the more pratical route which causes a loss in payed miles for the driver although this pratice is prevalent throughout the trucking industry is it legal?

What does the contract between the driver and company say? If it specifies that Rand McNally milage will be used, then you are stuck with that. If it says you will be paid a certain amount per mile traveled, you should be able to enforce that part of the contract and make them pay the actual number of miles driven. Take a look at the contract.
