Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Alabama

Child custody

I am 19 years old, engaged, and renting an apt. My mother has left my 2 brothers with me and moved to another state? What do i have to do to become their legal guardian without going through child protective services?

You would have to go to the Juvenile Court and file a petition for custody asserting abandonment and that they are in need of care. DHR will become involved but you will be enabled to receive some services as well.
