Legal Question in Traffic Law in Alabama

hit and run accident-sue defendant

Accident on the interstate envolving a white car and myself. The car touched the side of my car causing me to run off the road and hit a guardrail, which caused 7000.00 dollars worth of damage. The car did not stop but a witness followed the driver and got the tag number. I at the time did not have insurance and recieved a ticket but it was just for no proof. Medical bills were in the amount of 1,000.00 dollars which I also did not have medical. Can I sue and for what even if I did not have insurance which is the law?

Re: hit and run accident-sue defendant

you can sue, but you might have a problem proving who was actually driving the car when it hit you. you will have to have the name and address of the person who got the tag number. you can sue for property damage and personal injury. Please call me if I can be of further assistance.
