Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

According to Alabama Law, what determines if a woman is a "true common law wife" of a man who has not legally married her but lived with him full time for several years, and if number of years, how many?

The true answer is whether the person has been held out to the public as wife or husband. Whether they have signed documents as such, introduced one another, or told people they were married. And, there is no such thing as common law divorce. It would take testimony to prove the common law marriage and if possible, any documents which were signed by the parties such as income taxes, letters or Christmas Cards, etc.
