Legal Question in Workers Comp in Alabama

Orders for money dispersal

I had a suit against a company that refused to cover me under W.C. We settled in court and my attorney told me he'd have my money in 7-10 days. It's been longer than that and the man says he has to send for a judges order to release my money. They seem very unwilling to tell me what this ''Order'' is and how long it will take. Should I go see the judge about this matter? And what order could he possibly need?

Alabama law requires all workmen's compensation settlements to be approved by a judge. You should trust your lawyer but he should keed you informed. Make an an appoint with him and go see him. It is not unusal for it to take 30 days or so to get the settlement funds.
