how do i receive prompt attention to medical provisions where the medical benefi

I had an serious injury to my leg requiring bone, muscle and tissure implants and almost lost my leg. upon settling the wc claim the medical benefits were left open and from about six years ago till now have had no problem with wc. the problem began with the scheduling of doctor's appt. this month which took nearly two weeks to get confirmation. i wear special support hose on the injured leg for protection and the doctor prescribes them twice yearly. the provider began last friday, jan. 4 trying to get the okay and i am still trying myself to get wc to call me or the provider. no results and i need the stockings. i am on disability retirement and no longer work with the employer where the injury took place and they have a different wc provider. what should i do?

I would suggest you do the following:

1. Get a letter from the physician stating that the treatment or device is related to your accident.

2. write a certified letter to the workers comp re: the provider and I have attempted to have this approved on numerous occasions. Enclosed is a copy of (the physician's letter). If this is not approved within ______ days of the date of this letter, I will presume that you wish for me to file a motion with the Court.

3. File a motion to approve medical treatment with the court that approved your workers comp settlement. If you had a lawyer, ask him/her to do it. If not, you will probably have to do it yourself because the attorney will not get paid for his/her services.
