Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Arizona

I have a question about this law. I have searched through the Arizona Revised Statutes, and through my research I have found that:

ARS 13-3102.A.2 makes it illegal for someone under 21 to carry "concealed."

ARS 13-3102.B defines the exceptions to A.2 (for being under 21 years old)

ARS 13-3102.B.3 defines open and vehicle carry that don't violate Section A.2.

Nowhere in ARS 13-3102 does it show a minimum age (i.e., 18 years old) for carrying a weapon. So my question to you is can you OPEN carry a handgun at the age of 18?

Thanks!

Without some more facts, it is difficult to answer specifically. But ARS 13-3102 applies to concealed weapons. The exception to the "age 21" issue is found in 13-3102B, and seems to indicate that a person under 21 can carry a handgun if properly secured by one of those methods: ie NOT concealed, and/or in a visible holster (and there are others in the statute itself). There are multiple subsections within that statute that may or may not apply to your situation. You are correct in your reasoning, that yes, ultimately, it is a CONCEALED weapon statute, and does not give any specific age on the OPEN carrying of firearms.

Be aware this is a public forum, and without specific facts, this is just general advice based on your question. Arizona's concealed weapons laws change often, and it may be beneficial to you to consult an Arizona attorney with your specific factual scenario.
