Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona

HOA threatens lien on home

I fell behind last year in my association dues. We came to an agreement that was signed by both parties(management co and myself) and I have been making payments faithfully as agreed.I received a letter threatening to place a lien on my home if not paid in full in 10 days. I never heard anything before and have never missed a payment. Can they do this?

Re: HOA threatens lien on home

Based on the information you have provided, I do not believe the HOA has the right to breach its own agreement and demand payment in full. At a minimum, I would request a written basis for its demand.
