Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

My fifteen year old niece would like to move with me in Arizona. She currently lives in Texas with a friend of her mother. She does not live with neither her mother or father. After approval from both parents verbally along with a notarized letter with her mother's signature she gave me temporary guardianship. Can anything be done?

This is an issue best dealt with before you leave Texas. There are many options. For example, if both parents agreed to sign away their rights to the child, you could adopt and take the child wherever you want. If not, you may have to get authorization from both parents. I do not know Texas law and I strongly recommend consulting a Texas attorney before removing the child from Texas. Doing so without permission of either lawful parent could get you into trouble.
