You need to see a divorce attorney immediately. You are entitled to support (both for you and your child), and you are entitled to one-half of all property that was acquired during your marriage. However, you can't do this alone. You will need to pay an attorney to help you. Hopefully the attorney can get the judge to compel your husband to reimburse your attorney fees. But that will be up to the judge in light of your financial circumstances.

You need to pursue spousal maintenance (which YES, does include a consideration of the "standard of living", child support, and an equitable division of community property.

We can certainly help you consider and then pursue your options. This is obviously a very important matter, and you should not go in alone.

One of our attorneys can explain the issues and procedures better in person. As you can imagine, there is too much to cover via email. We offer free 1/2 hour consultations, in which we can discuss your matter in detail.

Please call us directly to discuss the specifics of your matter, or contact my assistant Alicia or my paralegal Jennifer to schedule your free 1/2 hour consultation.
