Insurance check

What do I do with an insurance check that is made out to my late ex-husbands estate. I was to be beneficiary but since we never notified them of the divorce it made me null and void. He had no other estate.

Since his estate is the beneficiary, it must go to the proper beneficiaries under his will, or if he died intestate (no will) then to his heirs at law, which might be children or parents. consult with an estate attorney to find out who gets it and how they can collect the check and legally cash it.
