Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

New home construction

I have a friend who recently had a new home built. He Closed on his ne home on May 10. On May 16 approx 1/2 hr before he was to receive his keys he was called by the lender and was informed that they has mis calculated his portion of his closing fees and that he would have to pay an additional 1400 or there would be no keys for him. He did pay reluctantly the fee because he needed to close on this home .Does he have any legal standing? Thank you.

Re: New home construction

If it was an honest mistake, then I don't think there is anything you can do. If they did it on purpose to get you to buy the place, then you might have a case. Although, for $1400 it's probably not worth the aggravation.
