Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas

criminal summons

I have been accused of stealing money out of a vehicle. Going through a divorce and it was not final it is now. I went to the place where my ex lived, after he told me to come over and get a trailor hitch off his truck that he had borrowed, to move his stuff out of my house, and pick up a cell phone that he had borrowed. I went over there and knocked on the door so that he could help me with the hitch, he did not answer. I got the hitch off his truck and looked for the cell in the cab of the truck, it was not there, I took the hitch and left. A week later I get a criminal summons for stealing $300.00, a ball glove and trailor hitch. Is this word against word or do I need a lawyer to go to court?
